HDVideoPro recently spoke with Eigil Bryld, the DP on Netflix's original series House of Cards created by Kevin Spacey, David Fincher and Beau Willimon.

Bryld tells HDVideoPro:

"So I went to L.A. to discuss the show and how he wanted to deal with the visuals, and the first thing David said was, 'We're going to shoot this on RED with minimal equipment and really fast,' because everyone was concerned with the sheer amount of material we had to cover in a very short schedule just 10 days for each episode."

Though they were given more time for the first two episodes, Bryld says that they needed to develop a style they could execute quickly and that involved shooting on two RED EPICs simultaneously.

In the expansive article, Bryld gives a lot of great detail on how Fincher and his crew created their visual style, made shooting decisions, and even touches on their gear and workflow. It's an informative look behind the scenes of a groundbreaking show.
