LAS VEGAS, NV -- RED Digital Cinema is proud to announce the first 4K media playback solution, the REDRAY. REDRAY is the final piece of the product line-up from RED that takes your project from 4K capture to 4K post-production to 4K distribution.

Until now there have been two salient questions about 4K delivery: What device plays the 4K content and what kind of file contains it? REDRAY answers both of those questions.

REDRAY is the solution for 4K delivery. A desktop device that processes 4K R3D files and sends them to your 4K monitor or projector, REDRAY is the tool that ties together your RED family.

Think of the possibilities:

4K rushes can sent in full-quality over FTP or SD card. Highly-detailed industrial films can be packaged and sent over a network to other REDRAYs, giving your business the delivery system for your RED content. REDRAY can power huge outdoor signage. Wifi and ethernet connections allow REDRAY to access content on a network. Mission Control gives you REDRAY access from your iPad.

Additionally, if you're creating 4K content but don't yet have a 4K monitor or projector, REDRAY will make your 1080p monitor look like a studio display. REDRAY files contain more information than BluRay so they look better on 1080p displays.

REDRAY is how you show your 4K movies.

The secret sauce behind REDRAY is the data rate of the files. RED [what part of RED?] creates a 4K feature-length movie file that only takes up 16GB of space. This means that your submission to an indie film festival can fit on a single SD card. A 30-second 4K commercial will fit as an email attachment.

We have a saying: "RED never does things easy. RED makes things easy." The REDRAY is no exception. Re-engineered over the last year to take advantage of new ASIC chips, REDRAY is finally the distribution liberation that creators have been awaiting.

This is it. The solution that takes RED from Glass to Glass.
