At the NAB Show we announced the upgrade program to RED DRAGON sensors. In what is surely another trade show first, RED is performing upgrades to the RED DRAGON sensor in a clean production facility live in our booth. To do this:

We took part of our manufacturing facility and moved it to the floor of NAB. The entire upgrade is being performed there just as it will be done on RED users' cameras at our California facility.

When a camera arrives, it is thoroughly reviewed before being disassembled. Then the camera is moved to a clean room where we install the RED DRAGON sensor and internal magic.

After the installation, the camera is put through our usual battery of tests: temperature cycling, vibration testing, a very long burn-in period to assure cameras will run for long periods and various other methods.

When testing is finished, the camera goes to a member of our quality department who performs a 100% audit on the manufacturing work guaranteeing the same superior camera as those from our California production facility.
