Cinematography of Queens - Bristol Megascreen – Monday October 14th, 9:00-10:00

Members of the award-winning cinematography team from Queens will share insights into the planning and process behind capturing some of 2024's most captivating images. This series is known for its emotional connection with animals and their environments, and the team will discuss how they achieved this unique perspective through their cinematography.

Anatomy of Life on Our Planet- Bristol Megascreen – Tuesday October 15th, 12:00-13:00

Netflix's Life on Our Planet, described by The New Yorker as "the most ambitious nature documentary ever made," blends epic modern wildlife scenes with world-class VFX of ancient creatures to tell the greatest story—the story of life. Silverback’s Dan Tapster, Sophie Lanfear, and Barny Revill, along with Jonathan Privett from Industrial Light & Magic, will reveal the anatomy of this groundbreaking production and share insights into the six years of work that brought it to life.

REDUCATION: Empowering Filmmakers of the Future

Wildmotion Docs/RED will host a special REDUCATION session at Wildscreen, providing hands-on training for aspiring filmmakers led by industry experts. Taking place just before the festival, this one-day session in Bristol is tailored for natural history filmmakers. Participants will join a creative community, receive a certificate of completion, and work with industry-leading brands like Atlas, Cooke, and Litegear.

The program will combine classroom learning with hands-on experience using RED V-RAPTOR, KOMODO, and KOMODO-X cameras, covering exposure dynamics, focus tools, image composition, menu settings, and compression techniques. Participants will also receive a comprehensive overview of file management and post-production workflows using Resolve, Premiere, and REDCINE-X. Taught by wildlife photographers and cinematographers Ivan Agerton, Erin Ranney, Robin Darius Conz, Elise Gibbins, and Lia Nydes, this session will equip attendees with essential skills for capturing nature's beauty.
